Mariah Hay now serves as Vice President of Product on the executive leadership team at Help Scout, serving previously at Pluralsight. In the past four years, Mariah has led the product-side integration of three acquired companies, growing her organization from 8 to nearly 40 cross-functional teams. Along the way, she challenges and inspires each one to understand the daily life of end users, guiding designs of human-centred products from the ground up.
Mariah has spent her career teaching and advocating for human-centred design. In 2017, she was awarded the Women Tech Award for Product Excellence. Before joining Pluralsight, Mariah served as the Director of User Experience Design for Universal Mind, one of the largest independent digital agencies in North America. She also led all UX for AMC Health, helping develop a remote patient monitoring software that connects with medical devices and clinical services. Prior to that, Mariah served as a professor at Savannah College of Art and Design, developing and directing graduate coursework focused on interdisciplinary collaboration and the integration of tangible design thinking.
Mariah earned a BA at the College of Charleston and an MFA in Industrial Design from Savannah College of Art and Design. She continues to share her knowledge and passion for human-centred design by serving on the board of the Women’s Tech Council of Utah and actively mentoring aspiring designers. She is the Founder and Co-Organizer for Ladies That UX Salt Lake City Chapter, and Co-Organizer for Product Hive, a community of product managers, strategists and designers that come together to learn, contribute and connect, through volunteer-led opportunities.
