「秩序の喜び」？本気か？「秩序」こそ、すべての退屈なものに共通する第一の要素ではないのか。僕らの親の世代が一生懸命働いたのは、すべてが常に移り変わるこの美しくもカオスな時代を僕らが生き抜き、そして創造的カオスを包容できるようにするためではなかったか。
それは正しくもあり、誤っているとも言えます。混沌と秩序は表裏一体であり、私達が両者の異なる性質を正しく享受するために、両者は互いを必要とするのです。
このトーク・セッションでは、まず、秩序とは何か、それをどのように見出すか、何に使うのか、について幾つかの洞察を与えます。そして、データ解析、クラスタリング、機械学習、画像分類、データ可視化の多様な技法を紹介します。その多くは、科学者でも数学者でもなくとも、楽しめるものです。心配はいりません。このセッションは、コードだらけではなく、魅惑的なデータの分野に皆様の視線を誘導し、皆様が自分でこの世界を探究したいと思うように、勇気づけるものになるはずです。

The “joy” of order? Seriously? Isn’t “order” practically the number one ingredient of all things boring? Didn’t our parents work hard so we can live in these beautifully chaotic times where every thing is in constant flow and we can embrace in creative chaos? Well, yes. And no. Chaos and order are just two sides of the same coin and one needs the other so we can appreciate their very different qualities.
In this talk a I will try to give you a few insights as what order is in the first place, how to find it and what you can use it for. I’ll show you various techniques of data analysis, clustering, machine learning, image classification and data visualization many of which do not even require you to be a scientist or mathematician to have fun with. And no worries – this session will not be code-heavy but is rather supposed to direct your gaze to this fascinating field of data and hopefully inspire you to start your own explorations into that world.
