Overview
Learn how Macromedia’s technology initiative, “Flex” fits seamlessly into today’s new service-oriented architectures (SOA). Macromedia Flex is a new server product that addresses the requirements of enterprise programmers who want to develop Rich Internet Applications. This session will provide an overview of Flexs development environment which consists of a rich library of user interface components, an XML-based markup language to declaratively lay out these components, and an object-oriented programming language to handle the way a user interacts with the application. We’ll also cover design patterns for rich clients, learn how to interact with web services and Java objects. The Flex development model will be familiar to developers who have worked with J2EE, ASP/ASP.NET or similar technologies.
