Overview

CBC Radio 3 produces weekly radio programs and Web sites from its offices in Vancouver, Winnipeg and Toronto. Its been recognized around the world for its interactive work on projects like CBCRadio3.com, CBCHomeDelivery.com and TuningTheWorld.com and it continues to explore new types of public broadcasting in a multi-platform and networked media landscape.

CBC will present some of the key lessons learned about using Flash to deliver broadcast driven integrated content to online and on air audiences on a regular, and very short, production schedule. CBC Radio 3 uses Flash almost exclusively for its screen projects and its the main delivery platform for a majority of our audio and visual content.

The lessons would not be about working with database-driven, company catalogue, annual report type of static content. They would be about how to use Flash when working with content structured around narrative; stories like you see on television, read in magazines or hear on the radio. The lessons would be about producing unique sites and stories with audio, video and text in days, not weeks. And the lessons would come from a uniquely Canadian context.
