Will Eastcott is CEO and co-founder of PlayCanvas, the leading platform for creating web-based video games. Will is a video games industry veteran of 19 years. He was a key figure in the development of the groundbreaking RenderWare engine which powered a vast number of PS2-era games. He also headed up Activision’s European Game Studios as technical director, overseeing such titles as GoldenEye, DJ Hero and Blur. Will also has credits in Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto and Harry Potter video game franchises. Having seen how development teams struggle to collaborate and target the web effectively, he left Activision to form PlayCanvas, where he now leads a 12 man team that’s giving web developers a next-generation replacement for Flash.
