Shelley Simmons is a pioneer in the innovation and interactive entertainment industry.
For the past 24 years, Shelley has led, innovated, produced, and launched over a dozen titles, including more than 80 games and mini-games, in partnership with broadcasters such as HBO, BBC, ZDF, CBC and Corus. These projects ranged in genres from multi-player games and mobile apps, to online games and VR experiences. In 2006, she led the way creating an experimental interactive film, well before the genre became popular.
She has successfully led teams through the high-pressure digital production process at well-known media companies such as marblemedia, Stitch Media and Jam3. Her work has been recognized by the Emmys, Banff Rockies, Canadian Screen Awards, Digi Awards, Gemini’s, and Youth Media Alliance.
Shelley holds a BFA Honours from York U, an MDes from OCADU in Strategic Foresight and Innovation, and a certificate in Interactive Arts and Entertainment from the Canadian Film Centre, and she chairs the advisory committee for Seneca’s Honours Bachelor of Design in Interactive Media program.
