Basheer is a senior hardware interface designer with a firm belief that products should feel beautifully designed even after the first button press. At Google, he has been creating & leading new hardware products like the new Pixel Buds and the Daydream Controller.

Through a unique blend of filmmaking tools, electronics prototyping, and form finding techniques, he creates new hardware interfaces that transform purely digital processes into analog methods of interaction. Prior to joining Google, his work as a research scientist at the MIT Media Lab focused on creating new automotive interfaces and programmable materials for companies like Jaguar, Lexus, and New Balance.

After hours, you’ll find him pointing his camera into light sources, blowtorching food, hoarding imagery, or rewatching Lurpak butter commercials.
