Overview
Gregg Caines is interested primarily in the use of multimedia in a client-server environment, for creating dynamic presentations of equally dynamic data. In his lecture, he’ll be discussing the merits and practical uses of XML with Flash XML object to achieve this goal. This examination of XML in Flash will attempt to b as lacking in the usual XML hype as possible, but will instead focus on practical real-world examples that Gregg has created professionally. A grasp of Actionscript’s fundamentals will be expected, though a thorough understanding of the XML object will not be necessary. Some experience with server-side scripting languages would be helpful, but non-essential. Gregg is an author of XML in Flash (QUE publishing).
