Overview

We are at a pivotal moment for the creative industries. There are more professional creatives than ever before. Tools for creating are more accessible than ever. And we see unprecedented speeds in the production of creative work on digital media platforms. With this lightning-fast, pseudo-maximalist, overwhelming nature at which we’re experiencing multitudes of good creative work, we’re left wondering: Have we reached the limit of our collective creativity? Or is there room to continue our pattern of innovating creativity even further?

Talia Cotton, who has carved out a niche by integrating coding as a way to bring meaning to design, offers a fresh perspective on these challenges. Through founding a studio that champions the convergence of design and technology, she has created a unique space for like-minded creatives. In this talk, Talia will address the internal battle creatives face in striving to outdo their past achievements, and the collective quest for innovation. By examining the limits of our individual creativity and the potential for future breakthroughs, she aims to inspire a conversation about how we can all contribute to a more innovative and forward-thinking creative community—and how it all starts with outdoing yourself.
