Overview
Sooner or later, we all have, or will have to join a “completed” project only to find jQuery soup: functions within functions nested inside AJAX callbacks. It sucks. How did our beloved front-end language bring us here? Why did we even need jQuery? Couldn’t we just use vanilla JS?
In this session we’ll be going over JavaScript holistically, from some of the original patches and polyfills, to present-day gotchas and quirks, and into the future looking at how the hot new HTML5 APIs and ES6 specs will change this landscape moving forward.
