Presentation

Overview

Workflow is a much discussed topic these days. Making sure that a team works well together between disciplines can make the difference in any commercial project. Even though specific software is being created for this such as Flash Catalyst and the tighter integration between Flash Professional and Flash Builder, communication on projects, designs and development between disciplines remains hard and often disruptive.

With the new AIR application Blackbox, De Monsters are addressing this issue as we are bringing project planning and the creation process together. In this presentation problems within workflow and the design decisions we made to address those problems will be discussed. But we will also go into the technical implications of creating a big application that has to integrate within the daily creative workflow. We’ll show how we are keeping performance high but system load low and how to create a seamless integration between AIR and C++.

While we will discuss some technical background, it is aimed at an entire creative team and can also be very interesting from a designer’s perspective.
