清水陽子は日本に拠点を置く、コンテンポラリーアーティストであり、科学研究者でもあります。京都生まれ、米国育ちの彼女は、子供時代にニューヨークのアートシーンに影響を受けました。神戸大学で生物化学を学び、科学現象と原理をアートに生かしています。芸術と科学を融合した生物学にインスパイアされたインスタレーションによって多数のアワードを受賞しており、世界中で個展が開催されています。日本でラジオパーソナリティも務めており、国際的なアートやミュージックプログラムについて紹介しています。優れた作品と芸術分野での功績により、2012年に愛知県芸術文化選奨 文化新人賞を受賞しました
Yoko Shimizu is a contemporary artist and science researcher based in Japan. Born in Kyoto and raised in the Unites States, she was inspired by the art scene in New York as a child. She studied Biology and Chemistry in Kobe University to utilize scientific phenomena and principles in art. Yoko has received numerous awards for biology-inspired installations that integrate art and science, and has held exhibitions in countries around the globe. She is also a radio personality on international art and music programs in Japan. She has recently won the Arts and Culture Award for her outstanding work and contribution to the art field.
