Theo Watson is an award winning interactive artist whose work is born out of the curiosity and excitement of designing experiences that come alive and invite people to play. His work has been shown at the Tate Modern, Ars Electronica, and is in the permanent collection of MoMA.
Theo Watson and Emily Gobeille lead creative studio Design I/O, an interactive design studio that was the 2020 winner of the Cooper Hewitt’s National Design Award for Digital Design.
Design I/O has been at the leading edge of immersive interactive installations and new forms of storytelling for over a decade. Their recent work includes an emotion driven interactive robot arm as well as the world’s first live streamed, VR music video album. Their clients include Adobe, The New York Hall of Science, The Cleveland Museum of Art, The Tech Interactive, Bell Labs and the Toronto International Film Festival.
Theo is also the co-founder of the openFrameworks project, an open source library for writing creative code in C++.
