Shelley Simmons is a pioneer in the innovation and interactive entertainment industry.

For the past 23 years, Shelley has led, innovated, produced, and launched over a dozen titles, including 80+ games and mini-games, in partnership with broadcasters such as HBO, BBC, ZDF, CBC and Corus. These projects ranged in genres from multi-player games to mobile apps to online games, and to VR experiences. In 2006, she led the way creating an experimental interactive film well before the genre became popular.

She has successfully led teams through the high-pressured digital production process at well-known media companies such as marblemedia, The Chocolate Liberation Front, and Jam3. These projects have won Canadian Screen Awards, and one was nominated for an Emmy.

Shelley holds a BFA Honours from York U, a Masters Degree in Design Studies from OCADU in Strategic Foresight and Innovation, a certificate in Interactive Arts and Entertainment from the Canadian Film Centre, and chairs the advisory committee for Seneca’s Honours Bachelor of Design in Interactive Media program.
