Overview
Film has always been understood as a collaborative medium. In contrast, graphic design is a vocation historically undertaken by individual artists or craftsmen. In the sixties, the collaboration between copywriters and art directors marked the beginning of the golden age of advertising. Today the reduced cost of cameras, render power and digital tools, as well as the distribution power of the internet, again call into question the need for collaborators, even in the film medium. In his presentation entitled “Others”, Kyle Cooper will consider the balance between building creative community and the individual need for personal expression.
