Overview
Media convergence is not just shifts in our technologies and processes, but is affecting change within the industrial, cultural, and social paradigms that encourage (and enable) the consumer to seek out new information and entertainment. Convergence, simply put, is how individual consumers interact with others on both social and professional levels. They use various media platforms to create new experiences, and evolving forms of media and content. Thus, producers and content creators have new platforms and avenues – most of which have experimental business models – to connect with, and engage, their audience.
