Web design is getting harder. There was a time when you could check your work in Netscape and IE at maybe a handful of common desktop screen resolutions and call it a day. Nowadays we have everything from small screen older generation smart phones to tablets to high-DPI laptop screens to huge desktop screens to contend with, never mind the browser choices.
Responsive Web Design is a great way to make life easier, but is it the only solution for every modern web design problem? We’ll take a look at some common Responsive pain points and ways around them, as well as alternative approaches to cross-device design and if/when you should use them.
