Overview
An award-winning Paris-based artist and researcher, Evan Roth’s work explores the intersection of free and popular culture. From his Graffiti Research Lab to his LED Throwies project, Evan’s work continually raises the bar and eyebrows in the interactive industry.
A supporter of the open source community, Roth is co-founder of the Free Art & Technology Lab (F.A.T. Lab), a web based, open source research and development lab. He also collaborated with Jay-Z on the first open source rap video.
At ETA, Evan will be discussing his relationship with mainstream advertising agencies and the creative looting of graffiti, street art and new media which makes artists uncomfortable and leaves society thirsting for honest work. He will also share examples of creative curating which supports artists and funds honest work.
