Overview

Note that this is a pre-festival workshop day (April 19), and therefore is only available to those who have ‘the works’ tickets, or the ‘pre-festival workshop’ tickets

This workshop will focus on how-to create AIR applications that control Adobe’s Photoshop, Illustrator, Bridge & After Effects CS3 applications. Woohoo will step through the basics of how to control the Adobe applications from ExtendScript, how to create a swfPanel in Illustrator CS3 and establish two-way communication between ActionScript and Javascript methods. We will explore the available resources, the DOM Objects for each application and the code of practical examples that Woohoo has developed. In the final portion of the workshop, we will combine features of functions of several Adobe applications – eg., controlling the Animation Timeline in Photoshop CS3 Extended – into our AIR application example in order to create an über application of our own.

AIR developers interested in creating tools that drive Adobe applications for their own purposes and who are interested in selling them as commercial applications.
