This lecture is targeted for creative types who have the courage to experiment with Object Oriented ActionScript in order to create and narrate interactive stories.
In an effort to suggest a process for creating flash sites with narrative meaning;Paul analyses what can be learned from the colourful world of video games and how it can be used in Flash to deliver enhanced interactive narratives to the viewer.
With MX 2004, we have the tools to program and apply video game technology to immerse users, yet unlike video games where the user expects to be the “action hero”; Flash user expects creative entertainment without a goal. Flash has the ability to be a renaissance tool for the interactive storytelling community, where todays experimental narration approaches can easily find themselves in the video games of tomorrow.
