Steve Viola is a Philadelphia-born creative who has spent the past 16 years working in design. Presently the senior vice president of design for FX Networks, Steve’s prior experience has included roles as a graphic designer, CG artist, art director, creative director and executive creative director; and has spanned across creative industries from commercial and entertainment advertising to visual effects, feature film main titles, and broadcast design. He has a B.S. in Media Arts and Design, with a minor in Digital Media, from Drexel University; and is an adjunct faculty member at Otis College of Art and Design, where he teaches courses in concept development and mixed media compositing for motion design.
Steve has helped build and expand a number of companies and design divisions over the past several years, including the highly successful launch of Method Design in 2010, which enjoyed a spectacular record of new business during his tenure. In 2014, Steve was approached by FX Networks to oversee and expand the design department for their suite of networks. Since that time, Steve has built an award-winning agency-style internal design group and helped launch numerous shows including Fargo, The Strain, The Simpsons on FXX, The People vs. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, Atlanta, and many more.
