Slavica Ceperkovic has been working in the new media field in various capacities for over 10 years. She has taught in the undergraduate media arts digital technologies programme at Alberta College of Art and Design in Calgary, and has managed the co-production department at the Banff New Media Institute. Most recently, Slavica oversaw the Interactive Art and Entertainment Programme at the CFC Media Lab working with residents to build new media prototypes. Slavica has a BFA in new media studies from Ryerson University, and a post graduate degree from Le Fresnoy Studio National des Arts Contemporains, France. She enjoys working on a fine arts practice in her spare time and in the last few years has exhibited and her work in Canada, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Norway, Colombia, Poland, Hungary, England and the United States. Recently she was referred to as a “Slavic pixel princess” in a book published by MIT press. She has an upcoming exhibition in Paris in October and is planning a trip to Congo, Africa in the fall to visit her BBC journalist and blogger
