Marius is an artist working code to create abstract generative visuals. His experiments with the synthesis of form as the product of parametric behaviors are marked by hard-edged geometries and vivid colors, with outputs ranging from pure software works and public projections to physical objects produced with digital fabrication technology.
He’s exhibited at venues like the Victoria & Albert Museum (London), Todaysart (The Hague), ITAU Cultural (Sao Paulo), Museumsquartier (Vienna), and Galleri ROM (Oslo). Watz founded Generator.x in 2005 as a platform for a series of events related to generative art and computational design. Though working primarily as an artist, he is active as a commentator and sometime curator of events related to code-based art and design.
Marius is a visiting lecturer in Interaction Design at the Oslo School of Architecture and Design, and regularly lectures and teaching workshops around the world. He currently splits time between in New York and Oslo.
