Jason Zada is a multi-screen storyteller and director. Starting at an early age, Jason was attracted to non-traditional storytelling. Creating Super8 films, programming text adventures on his Commodore 64 and video games formed a strong foundation as both a geek and storyteller. During the 1990’s Jason spent time telling stories in CD-ROMs and on the Internet. In fall of 2000, Jason started the digital advertising agency Evolution Bureau and over the next 8 years grew EVB into a 65 person agency, eventually allowing Omnicom to acquire a majority stake in the company. Jason became a multi-screen director in 2008, working in commercials, interactive content, music videos and feature films, Jason’s unique background in innovative storytelling has helped him craft some of the most talked about content. In 2011, Jason created the cinematic personal experience ‘Take This Lollipop’ that created 12 million Facebook Likes in one months, making it the fastest growing FB app of all time.
As a director has worked with agencies such as Weiden + Kennedy, Crispin Porter Bogusky, Sid Lee, Leo Burnett, Cutwater, Saatchi & Saatchi, RPA, Y&R, Draftfcb, Kaplan Thaler and Grey on a variety of digital and broadcast projects.
Jason is often asked to speak at a variety of industry events including Cannes Lion Festival, Boards Summit, Creative Review’s Click and South by Southwest. Jason’s work has appeared in Creativity Magazine, Boards Magazine, Shoot Magazine, Communication Arts, Contagious, Fast Company and the New York Times.
Jason is an avid video gamer, a lover of amazing food and a fan of not having to write bios about himself. He currently lives out of hotels when he is not in either Los Angeles or San Francisco.
