As a senior creative developer at Firstborn, Hector is responsible for the front-end development and animation of award-winning interactive projects for clients like Mountain Dew, PepsiCo and Disney. Hector has created rich animations and interactions using web technologies, such as webGL, canvas and advances CSS3 animations. He builds interface development for a first-of-its-kind digital soda fountain for PepsiCo and focuses on integrating a variety of emerging engineering techniques into his work. In his role, he also explores new digital avenues for our clients, as well as ensures every project is built to spec, tested properly and launched successfully.
Hector was born in Caracas and graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering from the Universidad Simón Bolívar. He also studied industrial engineering and earned his master’s degree in Industrial Design from the Polytechnic University of Valencia. Prior to Firstborn, he worked at Pixelinglife and Miaumiau studio in Spain. Hector is an incredibly dedicated mentor for the programmers on staff and has held calculus workshops for his colleagues in his free time. He is also a published author, and has shared his real-time webgl expertise with Net Magazine readers.
Hector loves to ride his motorcycle and go windsurfing when he has free time from his kids (his real passion) and work.
