Hawra is a PhD Cybersecurity candidate at University College London (UCL), researching how machine learning and natural language processing can be used to detect cyberbullying. She is also a computer science educator who is passionate about cultivating a generation of students skilled in using computational thinking to solve everyday problems. She is an advocate of women and girls in tech, and focuses her talks and ideas on the topic of gender parity and inclusion in the field of technology.

Hawra is also a Strategic Partner Manager at Meta (formerly Facebook), where she works with EMEA-based nonprofits to improve their overall performance through Meta’s Charitable Giving tools.
