Caroline, known as the ‘connector’, has been in the mobile industry since 1995, as a coder, funder, community builder and entrepreneur. Recognizing the importance of mobile developers in the ecosystem, she started WIP in early 2006 to provide them the information, resources and necessary contacts. WIP builds mobile developer communities for clients such as AT&T, BlackBerry, Bluevia/Telefonica, Cisco, DTAG, GSMA, HTC, Immersion, Intel, London Book Fair, Neustar, Nokia, Orange, Sprint, Verizon and many more. WIP is best known for its own Developer Community activities such as WIPJams and the Mobile Community Calendar.
Caroline founded the Wireless Innovation Network of BC (WINBC now DIGIBC) in 2001, one of the world’s first regional mobile associations, and spearheaded the development and fundraising of Wavefront, and is Past Chair of both organizations. She got her start in mobile in the Telecommunications Industry Group of Anderson Consulting (Accenture). Caroline also worked for a Hong Kong consultancy marketing an industrial park in China in the late 90s. She received her MBA from Dalhousie University and BA from the University of Manitoba. Caroline was named by Fierce Wireless as one of the Top Ten Women in Wireless for 2009. She is a Member of the ICT Advisory Board for Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada (DFAIT), an Advisory Board member of Webinos, and Judge for the Most Innovative App in the GSMA Mobile Awards
