United Visual Artists are a British-based collective whose current practice spans permanent architectural installation, live performance and responsive installation. Coming from a background in architecture, Ben joined UVA in 2008 and has since worked with the collective on a growing number of permanent works in the built environment.
From their first shows with Massive Attack to their most recent work here in Toronto, UVA have used light as a primary medium to sculpt environments. During his presentation at FITC, Ben will showcase a selection of UVA’s work and the process in which the works were created. He will highlight how software development has been a key part of the evolution of their works to date, enabling realtime design, visualisation and control of their installations.
This presentation is for anyone interested in digital design, art, architecture and live performance.
