One of the biggest challenges developers have faced is customizing the behavior, look, and feel of Flex components to meet their needs. In addition, any Flash developers who have worked with Flex has likely found it difficult to achieve the level of customization they have been used to. With Flex 4, Adobe has listened to the needs developers have identified and have overhauled the components and the component architecture in Flex 4.
This new model opens up new opportunities for both application developers and component developers. In this session Chafic will begin by covering the new component model through examples of customizing both behavior and appearance of components, and how it pertains to day to day application development. This session will also go through the developing a Flex 4 component that takes advantage of the new framework.
Prior experience with Flex is not required although beneficial.
