Presentation

Overview

After a brief demo of the Google Analytic Reporting Suite we’ll start taking it apart and start digging deeper to explore the possibilities for data visualization with Flex and AIR. We’ll try to cover topics such as parsing and formatting data, optimizing performance, custom item renderers and adding interactivity. Near the end of the session we’ll go tech frenzy and have a look at multi dimensional data, how to extend the framework and using the bytearray to create custom exports.

Audience:

This is an intermediate to advanced session for Flash and Flex developers. Good knowledge of Actionscript 3 and MXML is required.

Attain:

Anyone who hasn’t gone beyond the basics with the Flex charting components, Advanced datagrids or OLAP tables will walk away with a fairly good idea of what’s possible with data visualization in Flex and how to get started with it.
