Overview

Android spans handsets and tablets, and has UI capabilities that enable a single code-based to target all kinds of Android devices. The Fragment class, and new capabilities for gestures, transition animation, and multimedia make Android user experiences richer. The basic Android skeleton app of two years ago is obsolete. It’s time for a new starting point that won’t make you retrofit the new capabilities and best practices, and won’t force you to spend a lot of time on preliminaries before you get to the meat of your application. This talk covers the latest in application development best practices and provides you with an up-to-date app framework to get you going fast and right.
