Overview

Windows 8 Metro style apps open a new platform to developers that have traditionally worked on the web. Developers can bring the skills and tools they know from the web, and harness the full power of local hardware. This sessions will introduce developers familiar with HTML/CSS/JS to Metro style app development. The audience will see how to use hardware like cameras and accelerometers, accessing the local file system, and connecting to network resources. In addition, some of the unique features of Windows 8, such as contracts to easily share content from your application, and designing for snapped view to enable seamless multi-tasking, will be introduced.
