Overview
From smoke signals, pigeons, beacons, semaphore, telegraph, telex and the internet to the internet of things. Join the Creative Technologists of Toronto and learn the basic skills needed to create your own interactive physical experiences. Create a miniature beacon – a paper building – that broadcasts a morse-code message. Learn to install simple electronics, encode a message and program your building. Your building/ beacon will be added to a collaborative cityscape where your building will broadcast your message by blinking. The collaborative installation is a great one-on-one introduction to the basics and a jump-off point for working with technologies like the arduino.
