Michelle Yaiser will be presenting two sessions at RIA Unleashed Boston 2011 covering new and possible future features of Flash Player and AIR, as well as how to develop an application using Flash Builder for PHP. Michelle took the time to answer a few of our questions so FITC fans and followers could get to know her a little better leading up to the event. Meet Michelle Yaiser...

What are you passionate about?
Music has been the one consistent passion throughout my life. I'm a clarinetist and am always happy when I'm playing. A newer passion for me is sports car racing. I'm slowly but surely learning all that I can about cars and racing. Just to be clear, sports car racing runs on road courses, not ovals - we have both right and left turns and elevation changes.  I'm also a huge foodie. I only wish I had more time to eat at all the great restaurants I want to. Of course computers and technology are passions, but that’s probably true for all of the speakers.

What personal projects are you working on?
I play in and am president of the board of directors for the Charles River Wind Ensemble. Many of my personal projects are for that organization.  I am also the volunteer coordinator for the Spoon Project. If you aren't familiar with Spoon and work with Flex, check out the site or find me at the conference.  And I have a pile of half-finished sweaters I'm knitting. I sew too, but have found knitting needles are easier to get on planes than a sewing machine.

What tools are you working with now?
When working on the ActionScript Reference, I use Flash Builder and ASDocs.  Flash Builder is also what I use when I'm developing apps.

Where do you get your news?
I get my news, especially industry and technology news, via Twitter most days. I enjoy seeing what others are reading, talking about, and interested in. I also plan to start doing more on Google+. It just hasn't made it into my workflow yet. Hopefully it will be coming to TweetDeck soon so I have all my social media in one place.

If you were to choose an actress to play you in the movie of your life, who would they be and why?
I've been told I look like Jeri Ryan but I've always been a huge fan and admirer of Lauren Bacall. I wouldn't complain if either of those talented women portrayed me. Each time I give a presentation I wish I had Bacall's voice.
