Written Images is a tome that any self-respecting lover of computer generated art should be adding to their collection. With less than three days to go, the already successfully funded Kickstarter project, your time is running out to get your original version.
Martin Fuchs and Peter Bichsel have taken submissions for individual art generating programs that then went through a jury selection process and the final projects will all be used to output pages for the book. To create the books, another set of software has been developed to run and grab the output from each program and layout the results into the book's design template. Even the prologue is a generative piece of text from Bruce Sterling.
What makes this process incredible is that each book will be unique. Not only will the books be print on demand, but the content is on-demand and unique too.
With familiar names like Casey Reas, flight404 and Golan Levin involved along with the technologies we all know and love, like Processing, Cinder and OpenFrameworks you know this is going to be a beautiful piece of work.
If you want to get in on the first run, $200 will get you your own unique book. If that's a bit much for your budget, $60 gets you a one-of-a-kind set of 42 postcards. They only plan on printing a maximum of 230 copies and only 113 are left.
