Maggie is the in-house futurist at Myant, Canada’s leading textile computing company. She has a Masters in Design Strategic Foresight and Innovation from OCAD and a Bachelor in Design in Theatre from Concordia. She spent a decade designing for the stage (International Shakespeare’s Globe, Stratford Theatre Festival) taking creative risks that won her awards in low-tech storytelling. A residency at the Canadian Film Centre Interactive Art and Entertainment Lab plunged her into the interactive industry. The robust research and creative risk taking she learned define her career as a content creator winning her international recognition for Fortune 100 organizations. As an Emerging Fellow in the Association of Professional Futurists her mandate is to help individuals and organizations to consider plausible futures and how they play a meaningful part in it. Her most important work, Making the Futures Present is a truly original personal futures and design fiction technique. It is in an early development stage and she’s looking for leaders to extend the reach and adoption of a foresight mindset in everyone for every day decisions.
