Moving from full-time ActionScript development to JavaScript and HTML5 isn’t necessarily a difficult one – but it can be a confusing one. Join Stacey as she covers the top things she wishes someone had told her before she ventured out into the world of JavaScript. Little life lessons like web standards will be discussed, variances in font rendering, percentage calculation, feature support, sprite sheets for animation, how to optimize a site for the various features, browsers differences, support approaches and capabilities will all be addressed from both a design and development perspective. This session is intended as a primer for those new to web development, transitioning from another technology, or who have experience building highly interactive experiences in other technologies or those that just want to commiserate.
