Overview

Servers have long provided a healthy and happy environment for web apps.  But times have changed, and as much as the server may like to, it can’t protect our web apps from the dangers of connectivity.   Thanks to the mobile revolution, users are no longer “always connected”.  We can no longer assume that just because someone is using our site, they are connected to the internet – and that sentence in and of itself sounds completely insane.

In this session Alex will look at how to write fully functional, interactive and rich web applications without having to write a single line of server-side code.  He will even explore ways to create entire data backends and elastic web services that scale without actually needing to have their own server.  Web apps have left the nest and moved to the browser; the server is still powering it all, but in a new and brilliant way and the developer is reaping all the benefits.
