Tony Cleave is the Creative Director of 4stroke, a design and animation studio, located in Toronto, Canada. Under Tony’s creative leadership, the studio creates innovative design and animation for an array of clients in commercial and broadcast markets.
Tony’s career started with an honour’s degree in fine arts from the University of Toronto. Subsequently, Tony completed a post graduate diploma in computer graphics from world renowned Sheridan College.
Tony has worked at various networks and studios over the past 15 years as a Designer, Art Director and Creative Director. Most notably, Tony was the Creative Director at Soho, in Toronto for the past 9 years. He was instrumental in developing a design and animation department that went on to win over 30 international design and animation awards.
From 1996 – 2004, Tony sat on the board of directors of the Broadcast Designers’ Association, in Los Angeles. The BDA is an international association dedicated to design and animation excellence worldwide.
Tony has lectured on the creative process of design and animation at various industry events in Rome, Los Angeles and New York. He also teaches design part time in Centennial College’s Digital Animation Program.
Tony is a founding partner of 4stroke. The studio is guided by one principle – to help its clients solve their branding challenges with creative, visual solutions. It features the expertise of a talented, small, dedicated creative collective, where technology supports better ideas.
