Susan LK Gorbet is a creative technology strategist, educator, designer and artist. In 2001 she co-founded Gorbet Design, Inc., creating meaningful connections between people and ideas by building architectural-scale interactive artworks for hotels, plazas, airports and hillsides.

Susan has more recently been helping others bring a design mindset to business strategy problems, including the development of a transformative program to bring “Design Thinking” to the sales arm of a Fortune 50 software company. She has a Master of Design from OCADU’s Strategic Foresight and Innovation Program, and she mentors organizations on innovative approaches to integrating design and business thinking.

Susan has been transforming cutting-edge technology into compelling experiences since the early 90s. After winning a fellowship for graduate research at Stanford, Susan spent many years working with software and websites in Silicon Valley, where she led research teams at Silicon Graphics and was the Director of User Experience Design for Excite@Home and Snapfish.

Susan also loves helping the next generation of designers get excited about designing for real people. She has taught Experience Design and mentored digital projects at the Canadian Film Centre’s Media Lab, at Ryerson University’s Image Arts department, and at OCAD University’s Digital Futures program. She is currently based in Amsterdam.
