Ian Darwin has worked in the software field for several decades. He wrote one of the world’s first commercial Java training programs and the best-selling O’Reilly Java Cookbook. He currently works as a mobile software developer at University Health Network in Toronto, and is the editor and senior author of the crowd-sourced O’Reilly Android Cookbook.
He has, over the years, owned more mobile devices than he has fingers.
Ian holds an M.Sc. from the Faculty of Computing and Engineering at Staffordshire University; his thesis involved development of frameworks for ensuring software reliability.
