Giovanni Nakpil grew up in Manila, where he was captivated by the magic of science fiction and horror films. After studying Computer Graphics in Toronto, his multidisciplinary career took him across North America — from Maryland and Texas to California and Washington. As a digital model supervisor at Industrial Light & Magic, Giovanni helped bring to life iconic creatures in blockbuster films like Star Trek and The Avengers.
He later moved into the gaming industry at Valve Corporation and then into tech at Meta, where he played a role in advancing virtual reality through Oculus.
Today, Giovanni is a Senior Creative 3D Evangelist and Community Advocate at Adobe, connecting with artists around the world and living his dream of creating with cutting-edge digital tools.
