David Tucker serves as a Principal Architect with Universal Mind. As a resident Apple and Adobe expert, he works closely with Universal Mind’s clients to develop rich user experiences that leverage many of today’s exciting new development platforms.
David is a software engineer with more than 12 years of experience in web and mobile design. He is Universal Mind’s iOS Practice Manager, focusing most of his efforts on Apple’s mobile operating system for the iPad and iPhone. Universal Mind’s technology team relies heavily on David to architect compelling mobile solutions that leverage all the rich functionality available on these devices. As a principal architect, David is responsible for developing iOS solutions which are elegant for end users and also integrate seamlessly into the existing corporate systems of Universal Mind’s clients.
David also has a deep expertise in Adobe’s Flash platform development. As part of Adobe’s community of experts, he provides insights on rich internet applications (RIA). David was the lead author for the Adobe AIR 1.5 Cookbook and has written for Lynda.com. In addition, David has contributed to a number of Adobe publications including the Adobe Flash Newsletter, Adobe Edge, and the Adobe Developer Connection.
David is a speaker at many industry conferences related to web and mobile development. He also serves as a member of the Web Design and Development Advisory Committee at Full Sail University, a Florida college focused on developing creative careers in media and entertainment.
In his spare time David continues to develop his skills in audio recording and has been known to play Taylor Guitars.
