Ben&Julia, formerly Benoit Créac’h & Julia Gaudard, joined forces in 2006 to become the sensational French/Swiss duo that work as multidisciplinary talented directors and art directors.
When Ben and Julia decided to join forces, they did so in order to create exceptionally creative work through puppetry, 2D and 3D animation and live action.
To date their work has been enthusiastically commissioned and activated on a wide spectrum of platforms, from Commercials to Art Basel Scope to many places in between.
But who are Ben&Julia really?
Well, imagine if Jim Henson (puppeteer extraordinaire) and Heinz Edelmann (illustrator who famously drew for the Beatles Yellow Submarine) had Siamese twins who were miraculously separated at birth by Falcor (you know, the big dog from The Neverending Story) and Dr. Doogie Howser (a young Neil Patrick Harris). These two beings grow up unaware of one another and quite by accident find each other while circling the fractured glass monument of the Reichstag monument. They realize they share a calling for creating elaborately cosmic and colorful things for the world and begin collaborating.
They fall in love, in a perfectly soap operaish twist….and only we, the viewers, know they were once joined at the hip, literally. Well, if you can imagine all this (suspense, drama, humor, otherworldly-ness) then you’ve got a pretty good idea of what you can expect from the directing team of Ben&Julia.
