The call of global connection is strong. When we create work we’re proud of, we want the world to see it, like it, share it. Our relationship with online platforms has coaxed us into believing that this engagement is the primary mark of a work’s value—but algorithms shift and attention spans wane. In this globally connected world, it’s easy to feel lost in a massive sea of talent and always a step behind. We’ve forgotten that sometimes you can make the biggest and most impactful work, by staying purposefully, intentionally, radically small. And isn’t doing the opposite of what everyone thinks you should be doing punk as f*ck?
