Blender is a full-fledged production suite for 3D motion graphics, video and games packed into a single free and open-source cross-platform application. It also happens to be Richard’s weapon-of-choice when it comes to asset creation and management for Flash 3D productions.

This session revolves around case studies of some Flash projects he’s done during 2010, where he has used Blender and it’s Python API to allow easy editing of 2D and 3D content that is atypical to this kind of editor. Content is exported as AS3 class files, XML and other formats suitable for Flash.

In this session, Richard will also present the new binary AWD format for publishing regular 3D content (e.g. models) to the upcoming Away3D 4.0.
