Overview
We are on the verge of a technology awakening that will change what it means to be human.
We are tool makers. As humans we have hacked the world around us using its materials in new ways to help improve our lives. From using dumb and predictable objects that helped us solve our primary needs (food, shelter) to crafting more complex tools that help us solve the same problems more efficiently and solve higher needs but require states, feedback, and advanced user interfaces that help reduce the time between our intentions and actions. With the industrial revolution, our relationship with technology changed, accepting that machines can outperform us physically. With the introduction of computers, we accepted that machines can outperform our minds. We are now at the point where technology is becoming aware, independent, and capable of making decisions on its own. In this new scenario, we are at the verge of a new phase of human computer interaction. This is a moment where we are not using technology but rather teaching technology how to become human literate and make decisions in our behalf.
