Presentation

Overview

When it comes to the web and apps, good animation and transitions can make the difference between an experience that people fall in love with and one that’s easily forgotten.

In this talk Val will show you how to get the most out of animation with web standards (CSS3 and JavaScript) by going beyond the start and end points and applying your design eye to the all important in-between parts. These moments of transition and movement are an opportunity to communicate and connect.

What can we borrow from traditional animation? What can we learn from past mistakes? What makes animating UI elements a special case that we need our own rules for?  After this you’ll never think of a simple transition the way same again.

Audience:
Web Designers and Developers with an interest in animation and user experience.

Attain:
An appreciation for how animation and transitions can add value to a design, and practical ways to evaluate the addition of animation to web projects.
