Overview
Designers design, and developers develop, that’s the way it’s always been. But the process is flawed, with designers routinely handing off final designs that are hard to understand, and sometimes impossible to build. Instead of a match-the-picture approach, we should consider design and code as two parts of one thing. By adapting how we work and think about our work, we can bridge the gaps, and enable team members on both sides to work better, and faster.
The team at Loblaw Digital will outline their strategies for moving towards a more seamless transition between design and code, using systematic practices, design tokens, generative tools, and challenging traditional roles.
