Overview
The open-source Away3D framework is perhaps the most well-known and used 3D engine for the Flash platform, and is relied on by teams every day in productions like games, visualization and other web and mobile experiences. In addition, Away3D has recently begun to take it’s first confident steps into the world of open web technologies, through the personal experiments of core developer Richard Olsson. In this session he will show the current state of the experimental project Away3D.js, which is slated to hopefully become a full Javascript and WebGL port of the Away3D engine.
There will be demos of Away3D.js in action, as well as details on how it works and how to use it. Richard will also share insights and lessons learned while creating a large-scale Javascript library where performance is priority from day one. |
